Unlucky to lose the Euro 2000 final to France, Portugal will be looking to make up for that by truimphing in the World Cup.
Portugal qualified as Group WInners on goal difference ahead of Ireland as both teams were undefeated during qualifying.
The squad will fancy itself to walk through the first round of the competition as on paper they are the strongest in the Group, and with a squad boasting Figo, Nuno Gomez, Vitor Baia, and Rui Costa it is easy to see why Portugal are among the favourites to lift the World Cup in what suprisingly will be their first appearance at the finals in 16 years.
