TEAMS: Poland

Qualified ahead of Ukraine and the much fanied Norway, they lost only once in their qualifying campain - a shock 4-1 defeat at the hands of Belarus in the penultimate qualifying fixture. This apart, the Poles looked comfortable and confident on their way to World Cup qualification.
Not since finishing third in 1974 have Poland had a team capable of really making an impact at the World Cup. Many of the squad play their football in other european countries which has helped them develop into better players and influence the rest of the team.
In Jerzy Dudek, they arguably have one of the best keepers who will appear at the tournament and with the goalscoring ability of Emmanual Olisadebe Poland will fancy their chances of progressing to at least the second round. Although the recent form of Korea and the USA should make Group D one of the most exciting in the competition, so Poland should not take anything for granted when they meet these two opponents who may appear weaker on paper.
