Worldcup-2002.co.uk Football : News 9th January 2004 Strachan to quit Southampton >> [BACK TO NEWS HEADLINES] Southampton Football Club manager Gordon Strachan is to leave his post at the end of the season to take a break from the game. The former Coventry boss decided not extend his contract which expires in the summer due to health and personal reasons. Despite coming as a shock, Strachans revelation was supported by the Southampton FC chairman Rupert Lowe who admitted it will be sad to see one of the clubs most successful managers step down.
