Formed in 1887, Celtic won the first of their 38 League Titles in six years later and have continued to share the dominence of domestic football with city rivals, Rangers. However the club has the upperhand over their neighbours as they have won the trophy that has forever eluded the blue side of Glasgow - The European Cup - which was brought to a British Club for the first ever time in 1967 thanks to a victory over Inter Milan. In this year, the hoops won every trophy possible - a feat still to be matched in Scottish Football.
Whilst Rangers dominated the 1980's, Celtic had to wait 10 years before they lifted the title again under Dutch manager Wim Jansen, the recent success was shortlived though as Jansen departed and Celtic again saw Rangers claim another four League titles until Martin O'Neill was appointed at the start of the 2000/01 campaign. He won the Domestic Treble in his first season and retained the title the year after, and with the likes of Henrik Larsson still scoring for fun (hes scored over 150 goals since joining the club in 1997) the future looks just as bright as the past has been for the Emerald Green of Glasgow.

QUICK FACT
When Liam Brady was appointed manager in 1991, he was the first man appointed who had never appeared for the club as a player.
